Results of rolled metal production in Ukraine

For 8 months of 2018, the metallurgical sector of Ukraine produced 12.27 million tons of rolled metal, which is 4% higher compared to the same period in 2017. During the reporting period, about 10.1 million tons of rolled metal were exported, which is more than 82% of the total volume. This is slightly higher than the same period in 2017, when the share of exports was 81.6%.

The share of semi-finished products in export deliveries for 8 months of 2018 reached 43.94%, which is higher than 39.83% in January-August 2017. The share of flat and long products decreased in export deliveries in 8 months of 2018 to 21.42% and from 34.64% and 35.47% to 24.70%, respectively, in 2017.

The main directions of export supplies of Ukrainian metal products for 8 months of 2018 were the countries of the European Union (33.4%), Africa (16.9%), other European countries, including Turkey (13.5%) and the countries of the Middle East (11.0%). %).

Domestic consumers were supplied 3137.5 thousand tons of rolled metal, of which 948.5 thousand tons or 30.23% of imported origin. The growth in the use of rolled metal in the domestic market amounted to 4.64% compared to January-August 2017.


Among the main importers for 8 months of 2018, the first place is occupied by the CIS (56.6%), the second is shared by the countries of Asia (18.7%) and the European Union (18.3%).
