Positions of Ukraine in the global metallurgical market

According to Worldsteel, in 9 months of 2018, metallurgical enterprises of the world produced 994.94 million tons of pig iron, of which 932.41 million tons by blast furnace method and 62.53 million tons by direct reduction. This is 2.1% more than 974.48 million tons for the same period in 2017. Ukraine is ranked 10th among the 38 largest pig iron producing countries in this rating.

Global steel production in 9 months of 2018 reached 1,346.99 million tonnes, which is 4.74% higher than 1,286.05 million tonnes in January-September 2017. In the ranking of 64 largest steel-producing countries, Ukraine is in 13th place.
