China's steel production in October reached a record 82.55 million tons, up 9.1% from the corresponding month last year, data released by the National Bureau of Statistics showed on Wednesday. The annual growth rate in September is 7.5%.
Daily smelting in October reached the level of 2.663 million tons per day, compared with 2.695 million tons per day in September.
In January-October, the volume of steel production in China amounted to 782.46 million tons, which is 6.4% more than in the previous year.
Meanwhile, pig iron production in China in October increased by 7.3% to 67.74 million tons in October. In the first 10 months of 2018, pig iron production amounted to 645.06 million tons, which is 1.7% more compared to the same period last year.
