Vietnam HSG Exports Steel Sheets to USA

Steel producer Hoa Sen Group said it shipped 17,000 tonnes of steel sheets to the US on Thursday, valued at $ 14 million.

The company has been exporting to the United States since 2014, and shipments have been increasing recently.

A company spokesman said the supply proves the company's ability and global competitiveness, as exports to the US and EU were hit by the trade barriers they imposed.

Hoa Sen has been exported to over 75 countries and territories.

In 2017-18. Almost 1.9 million tons of steel were produced, worth over 34.4 trillion. Won (US $ 1.5 billion), up 13% in volume and 32% over the previous year.

Revenues from sales in the domestic market amounted to more than 22 trillion. Won (US $ 964 million), up 34 percent and exports of US $ 538 million. USA, up 27 percent.

Profit after taxes was 410 billion won (18 million dollars).

It uses advanced technology to meet the standards expected in international markets such as the US, EU, Japan, Australia, India, Indonesia and Malaysia.

According to him, export will become easier if he creates production facilities near ports.


At a ceremony to celebrate the first annual export shipment, the company signed a strategic agreement with South Korea's SK Group, under which SK Shipping will transport its products to overseas markets.
