INTERPIPE, a Ukrainian manufacturer of seamless pipes and railway wheels, has completed an investment project to modernize the pipe heat treatment section in pipe-rolling shop No. 4.
The cost of its implementation was USD 5 million.
The modernization of this section will provide an opportunity to increase the production of pipe products of increased strength groups.
The project consisted of three main stages: detailed engineering study, construction and commissioning, pilot operation, which was completed in the 4th quarter of 2018.
During the implementation of the project, a hardening device was installed - a nozzle sprayer of the Italian company Barni and a closed cycle of water supply to the heat treatment line was organized, consisting of a main concrete settling tank, an intermediate settling tank with a group of high-pressure pumps, an external pumping station and a cooling tower. A separate transformer substation is also installed outside the workshop, from which the entire facility is powered. This water supply cycle has reduced the use of make-up water from the Dnieper River required for pipe hardening.
The company's products are sold in more than 80 countries around the world through a network of sales offices located in the key markets of the CIS, the Middle East, North America and Europe.
