Ukraine became in the rating of world manufacturers in two months of 2019

Pig iron production According to Worldsteel, in two months of 2019, metallurgical enterprises of the countries of the world produced 216.03 million tons of pig iron, of which 201.77 million tons by blast furnace method and 14.26 million tons by direct reduction. This is 4.89% higher than the indicator for the same period in 2018 (205.97 million tons). In the first place, as before, is the People's Republic of China, whose metallurgists smelted 126.59 million tons of pig iron in January-February, which is 9.77% more than in the two months of 2018 (115.32 million tons). The share of Chinese pig iron in world production in January-February 2019 amounted to 58.6%. The positions of the other leading countries have not changed. Ukraine is in 10th place among 40 countries that produce pig iron (3.38 million tons, 93.55% compared to two months of 2018). Production of crude steel and rolled metal World steel production in two months of 2019 amounted to 287.61 million tons, which is 3.76% higher than in January-February 2018 (277.19 million tons). The leader here is also the People's Republic of China, which produced 149.58 million tons, which is 9.18% more than in the same period in 2018 (137.01 million tons). The PRC's share in world steel production is 52.0%. The positions of the other leading countries also remained unchanged. Among 64 steel-producing countries, Ukraine is still in 13th place (3.54 million tons, or 99.6% compared to January-February 2018).
