Production results of MMC of Ukraine in the first quarter of 2019

In March 2019, it was smelted:

- 1.83 million tons of pig iron, which is 15% higher compared to February 2019;

- 1.97 million tons of steel, which is 17% higher;

and produced 1.69 million tons of rolled metal, which is 15% higher compared to February 2019;

The increase in production in March compared to the previous month was mainly due to the difference in the number of days, as well as the commissioning of the main metallurgical units at a number of enterprises after repairs.

During the first quarter of 2019, released:

- 15.57 million tonnes of iron ore concentrate, up 0.3% compared to the same period in 2018;

- 7.90 million tons of sinter, which is 1% lower;

- 5.47 million tonnes of pellets, up 3%;

- 5.21 million tons of pig iron, which is 1% lower;

- 5.51 million tons of steel, up 5%;

- 4.78 million tons of rolled metal, up 2%;

- 0.28 million tons of pipe products, up 4%.

As of April 10, 2019, of the main operating production facilities, 20 of 21 blast furnaces, 8 of 9 open-hearth furnaces, 15 of 16 converters, 7 of 15 electric furnaces and 15 of 15 continuous casting machines are in operation.
