Kobe Steel Ltd announced the creation of Kobelco Europe GmbH earlier this month as the European headquarters of the Kobe Steel Group. KEU grew out of the existing Kobelco Machinery Europe GmbH in Munich, Germany.
KME was founded in 2012 as a base for Kobe Steel's engineering business in Europe, mainly for the marketing of non-standard compressors and tire and rubber equipment. KEU plans to continue KME's business activities while strengthening the governance of Kobe Steel's operations in Europe, starting with corporate governance and regulatory compliance.
KEU aims to further develop coordination between Kobe Steel Group companies in the region. Thanks to its good accessibility, KEU will also be responsible for the Group's location in the Middle East.
