Global crude steel production for the 64 countries reporting to the World Steel Association (worldsteel) was 156.7 million tonnes in July 2019, up 1.7% from July 2018.
Ndia's crude steel production also rose 1.7% in July 2019. In July 2019, India produced 9.2 million tonnes of crude steel. China's crude steel production in July 2019 was 85.2 million tonnes, up 5.0% from July 2018.
Japan produced 8.4 million tonnes of crude steel in July 2019, down 0.4% on July 2018.
South Korea's steel production was 6.0 Mt in July 2019, down 2.1% in July 2018.
The United States produced 7.5 million tonnes of steel in July 2019, up 1.8% from July 2018.
Brazilian steel production in July 2019 was 2.4 million tonnes, down 20.7% from July 2018.
Turkey's crude steel production in July 2019 was 2.9 million tonnes, 10.6% less than in July 2018.
Steel production in Ukraine this month amounted to 1.8 million tonnes, down 1.7% on July 2018.
