Steel production in China in August increased by 9.3% yoy

China's steel production rose 9.3% year-on-year to 87.25 million tonnes in August, according to the National Bureau of Statistics, bringing total production in the first eight months of 2019 to 664.87 million tonnes, up 9 , 1% higher than a year earlier.

In August, pig iron production in China increased by 7.1% at an annual level to 71.17 million tons, while production of rolled metal in the country increased by 9.8% to 106.39 million tons.
