Update on the modernization of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih

Despite the reduction in cash flows, ArcelorMittal in Kryvyi Rih maintained a high level of investment in modernization between January and September 2019.

The mill spent US $ 282 million in 9 months and expects investments to reach US $ 390 million in 2019. Some of the major projects include the reconstruction of the continuous casting machine No. 2 and 3, and the reconstruction of the second sinter plant. For its mining department, ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih continues to acquire large-sized mining equipment for the extraction and transportation of ore, new equipment for crushing and processing plants, as well as mines.

This year the company plans to complete its key projects and start new ones, including the reconstruction of the block of converter shops No. 1-3, modernization of the largest blast furnace No. 9, and the construction of a pelletizing plant.
