According to statistics, world steel production in October fell by 2.8% to 152 million tons, while volumes declined in all regions. This also applies to the production of unrefined steel and finished metal products in Ukraine. China's steel production declined 0.6% year-on-year in October, mainly due to declines in production before and after National Day, but China's steel production still accounted for more than half of global production. China has been the world leader in steel production for many years.

US steel production in October also fell by about 2% to 7.4 million tonnes as the impact of anti-dumping measures gradually eased.
Production in the EU fell by about 8.7%, but the EU only limited import quotas, which led to excess production in local factories and affected the profitability of suppliers.
India, the world's third largest steel producer, has boosted production by about 3% to 84.2 million tonnes this year. Japan's October volume fell 5%, in part due to typhoons, while its current capacity fell 3.9% to 75.6 million tonnes.
Given the trade conflict between China and the United States, it prompted the Chinese government to provide more incentive programs for domestic infrastructure. On the other hand, measures to protect US imports could raise domestic prices to support local steel mills.
