2019 was the year of fading ovens in the EU
2019 was probably the worst year of the decade for metallurgy in Poland and beyond. Market demand is weakening and supply for imports is growing. Although the European Union protects its market, the "political correctness" of all EU actions makes them ineffective. Several blast furnaces have disappeared from the European production map.
In the fall, several EU manufacturers announced the closure of blast furnaces.
The situation in the industry was negatively impacted by falling product prices and rising prices for raw materials.
A slight improvement in the market is expected next year.
