Russian steel production at NLMK in 2019 fell by 10%

Steel production at Novolipetsk Iron and Steel Works (NLMK) decreased by 10% year on year to 15.7 million tonnes in 2019, mainly due to a major overhaul of NLMK equipment in Lipetsk.

Sales in Russia rose 7% year-on-year to 11.4 million tonnes in 2019, driven by increased demand for steel.

Export sales fell 15% year on year to 5.8 million tonnes, mainly due to a major overhaul of equipment at NLMK Lipetsk, which resulted in lower billet and pig iron sales.
