Overhaul was carried out at DMK

In the rolling shop of the Dnieper Steel Works, the overhaul of the section rolling mill and the heating furnace was completed.

A large amount of work was carried out to repair the equipment of the mill line and the heating furnace. Motors and drives of stands, gearboxes of convertible stands, mechanisms for raising and lowering the beds of working stands were repaired, the distribution gearbox of the 10-stand block of the Buntaya line was repaired, the cold cutting knife of the condition line was overhauled, and a number of other related works were carried out.

During the overhaul of the heating furnace, the chimneys were cleaned from scale, the water-cooled rollers were replaced, and the walking beams were washed.

Alexander Oleinik, chief distributor of DMK: “Overhaul of the 400/200 condition is carried out once a year, in parallel, the heating furnace is also overhauled, where steel billets are heated during the production process for further rolling in condition.

Due to optimal planning and organization, we were able to reduce the repair time by 20 hours, which allowed us to additionally produce about 1200 tons of finished rolled products. "

The overhauls carried out will improve the reliability of the units, stabilize the operation of the equipment, and increase the quality of heating the workpieces.
