As part of its efforts to mitigate the impact of COVID-19, POSCO donated US $ 1 million in personal protective equipment and rapid test kits to Indonesia.
POSCO distributed 32,000 Korean reusable masks to all employees and their families of PT Krakatau POSCO at Cilegon in Banten, as well as to its 31 partner contractors. These masks, worth $ 900,000, were distributed to keep local communities safe and protect the national steel industry from the impact of COVID-19.
POSCO also donated US $ 100,000 COVID-19 rapid test kits made in Korea and emergency treatment equipment to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 to local governments in Chilegon, Karawang, West Java, Merauke, Papua and other areas.
The company also launched an initiative called “100 Days of War Against COVID-19” to protect the company and its employees from the deadly new coronavirus.
PT KP, a joint venture between state-owned PT Krakatau Steel and POSCO Korea, is committed to protecting its workers, their families and local residents in Cilegon, where the company's steel plant is located.
