The capacity utilization rate stood at 67.9%, up 1.3% over the week and down 10.1% year on year.
As of the week ended October 10, crude steel production in the United States this year was about 60.95 million short tons, down 19.5% from a year earlier. The production capacity utilization rate was 66.2%, which is 13.9% less than a year earlier.
