US-based Nucor Corporation announced that its board of directors has approved a plan to build a pipe plant in the Midwest, America's largest steel-consuming region.
The company said that the new pipe mill's products will benefit from Nucor's existing investments in the Midwest, including a plate mill, galvanizing line and hot rolling expansion.
The investment plan for this pipe plant will cost US $ 164 million and will be in effect for two years.
Nucor's product applications could expand to construction, infrastructure and renewables with the continued growth of the US solar market.
