SteelAsia Manufacturing Corp., the largest rebar manufacturing plant in the Philippines, is expected to start operating a beam manufacturing plant in Lemeri, Batangas province by 2023.
The design capacity of the new plant is 1 million tonnes per year, including I-beams and I-beams. , sheet piles, heavy angles and channels to reduce import dependence.
The main capacities of the plant are provided by SMS Group, Germany, and Fives Group, France.
SteelAsia currently has a total production of 2.1 million tonnes per year and has factories in Davao, Cebu, Misamis Oriental, Batangas and Bulakan.
The Batangas plant will process scrap steel that was currently destined for export.
