According to preliminary data from the United States Department of Commerce (USDOC), the United States imported about 320,200 tons of slabs in March, an increase of almost 18% over the previous month and 1,443.4% over the same month of the year. ago.

Among them, imports from Brazil accounted for the largest share, with a total of about 100 100 tons, which is 22.8% less than the previous month, and in March last year, the volume was zero. Other sources of imports included Mexico (about 94,600 tons), Russia (about 90,600 tons) and Canada (about 35,000 tons).

During the reporting period, the value of imports was about US $ 198 million, an increase of 38.3% on a monthly basis and an increase of 2203.5% on an annualized basis.
