Borusan Mannesmann, Turkey's leading steel pipe manufacturer, said it has purchased land in Ploiesti for €805,000 to build a new steel pipe plant in Romania. The new plant will be mainly focused on meeting the demand from the European automotive industry. Production capacities were not disclosed.
The total investment in this new plant in Ploiesti is 8 million US dollars. This will be Borusan Mannesmann's second investment in Europe following a previous investment in Italy.
