Turkish export of steel pipes grew in 2012 by 16%

The Turkish Association of Steel Pipe Manufacturers (CEBID) said today that the total volume of pipe products from this country in 2012 amounted to 1 million 910 thousand tons, increasing by 15.8%compared to 2011.

However, income from the sale of steel pipes increased by only 6.4% over a year reached 1 billion 770 million US dollars. According to CEBID, the share of pipe products in the total volume of the metal rolling exported in 2012 and became more than 10%, and this happened for the first time in the history of the Turkish economy.

The main buyers of Turkish steel pipes were Iraq, the USA and Algeria. The significantly increased number of pipes sold to Azerbaijan, Algeria and Georgia to a certain extent was leveled by a decrease in supplies to the European Union countries.

The last month of last year for the Turkish trumpets became very profitable, because in December 2012 they were exported more than 200 thousand tons of steel pipes, which is almost 40% higher than December 2011. November 2012 is a record for sales of pipes for export, when more than 202 thousand tons of Turkish production steel pipe was sold to foreign companies.
