A floor screed is a layer designed to give the subfloor the required properties.
Floor screed solves the following tasks:

The main types of screeds used:

- Cement-sand, cement. In fact, this is one type of screed based on cementitious cement and sand filler.
- Self-leveling.
- Dry. Mounted with particle board or plasterboard.
Advantages of a semi-dry screed
The best screed is a semi-dry machine floor screed. To better understand the advantages of this screed, you need to remember the technology for the production of cement-based concrete. To prepare concrete, a dry mixture of binder and filler is mixed with water. Water can give concrete high strength, but water can reduce this strength. Excess water during the setting of concrete forms numerous pores filled with water in it. While gaining strength, concrete uses this water, but the pores remain. To give the concrete maximum strength, the ratio of water to cement should be 4/10. It would seem something complicated. But with this ratio, the mixture turns out to be too dry. To obtain concrete, it is compacted either by vibration compaction or by pressing.
Semi-dry screed is prepared in the same way as concrete with the minimum required amount of water. To improve the mobility of the mixture, it contains plasticizers. Working with a hard, semi-dry mixture requires appropriate equipment, because manually it is difficult and unproductive. The result is a flat base equal in strength to industrial concrete. No shrinkage cracks.
Availability
Before order a semi-dry screed , it should be borne in mind that the use of expensive equipment predetermines the minimum screed area, the arrangement of which is economically beneficial for construction companies. Nevertheless, it is quite possible to find a company that would take up work with an area equal to a typical apartment.
