Technological progress in the industrial sphere determines the fact that high requirements are imposed on the quality of the manufactured metal products and, therefore, on their machining. By itself, machining is the action of the cutting tool on the surface of the workpiece to give it the required configuration, geometric dimensions and roughness.
Machining services by modern enterprises are carried out as quickly and efficiently as possible, that is, the manufactured parts fully comply with the current standards. Of course, this requires good production facilities in the form of modern high-tech equipment and qualified personnel.
Technologies used in the manufacture of parts
Mechanical processing includes a full range of works, which allows you to get a finished part from a workpiece. This includes two types of processing:
- rough;
- fine.
In the first case, the blank is given a shape that is most close to the finished product, and not by removing the surface layer of the metal, but by deforming it. Roughing is reduced to rolling, pressing, stamping and forging.
Fine machining assumes greater precision in obtaining the required dimensions. It boils down to turning, milling, drilling, grinding, as well as chiselling and planing, if the situation requires it. In this case, the desired geometry of the blank can be achieved by removing the allowance (metal layer over the drawing size). In the process of these works, a variety of metal-cutting equipment is used.
Metal cutting equipment
High-quality machining services can be provided only if precision metal-cutting machines are used, which are divided into the following groups:
- turning - the workpiece is fixed in the chuck, which makes a rotational movement, and the tool fixed in the tool holder moves in a straight line. This type of equipment is used for mechanical processing of bodies of revolution;
- milling - the workpiece is rigidly fixed on the table of the machine moving in the horizontal /vertical plane, and the main movement is performed by a cutter fixed in the spindle. In this way, flat and shaped surfaces are processed, grooves and flats are made, holes are bored, etc .;
- drilling - the blank is fixed in a special clamping device, providing
