Painting of metal products. Main types

Покраска металлических изделий. Основные виды

Metal products are used everywhere in various areas of human life, whether it be agriculture, industry, the production of any product, or the household sphere, that is, the surrounding everyday life. It has long been known that metal needs protection from many external factors, primarily from excessive moisture. Against this background, metal painting service seems to be very relevant and even necessary.

Types of painting on metal surfaces

Professional painting of metal products in a production workshop is carried out in two most common ways:

1. Use of a liquid polymer dye based on an elastomer of synthetic origin. This method is good in that the liquid structure almost instantly covers the product and solidifies, forming not only a visually attractive appearance, but also a strong protection;

2. Powder spray painting. This method is also used very often, since the special composition of paint (small crystals) has the ability to penetrate into the metal and, accordingly, stay on its surface for a long time, preventing the metal from entering into various reactions with the outside world. It is powder coating that is used in the last stages of car production.

The main steps before the painting process

Whatever type of painting is chosen, it is important to follow all the procedures preceding it. This is, first of all, grinding the surface, and secondly, removing any contaminants from it, especially fatty and residual oil products, since they are eaten so firmly that one cannot do without the use of jets of sand. It is worth noting that if there is a need for this, that is, the surface is heavily contaminated, then sandblasting is highly welcomed before painting. This is due to the fact that under the influence of sand, chips and scratches almost invisible to the human eye appear on the metal. Thanks to them, any type of painting will become more effective, and the coating will be more durable. This is explained by the fact that paint molecules are better attached to any rough surface. Well, if, on the contrary, ideally level the surface, then you can achieve the exact opposite result - the paint will not last long, and soon you will have to repeat the staining procedure again, but using negative experience.
