Coal exports from Russia in January - August 2025 increased by 2% compared to the comparable period last year and amounted to 135 million tons. This follows from the data of the Center for Price Index (CCI), which Vedomosti got acquainted. In August, the supply of Russian coal abroad increased by 7% in annual terms to 18 million tons, the agency’s statistics follow.
the increase in exports in eight months mainly ensured a sharp increase in supplies to Turkey (by 43% to 12.7 million tons) and South Korea (by 36% to 13.8 million tons). Also, 5% to 66.95 million tons rose the export of Russian coal to China (excluding Taiwan). In absolute terms, Türkiye increased the import of Russian coal by 3.8 million tons, South Korea - by 3.6 million tons, China - by 3.4.
