Samsung Heavy Industries to enter the Indian shipbuilding sector in collaboration with SDHI

Samsung Heavy Industries of South Korea has announced its entry into the Indian shipbuilding industry in cooperation with Cygnus Defense and Heavy Industry in Gujarat, according to sources and media reports on Tuesday, September 30.

. The two companies have agreed to collaborate on various different ocean projects, including carpet-building shipbuilders, and are finalizing ocean engineering.  SDHI operates India's largest shipyard located in Pipawawa, accounting for about 30 percent of the country's shipbuilding capacity, and owns and operates a dry dock capable of producing large-scale raw media.

Samsung plans to gradually expand its operations in India, using Shripyard as a Foybeold tographold India's Resistance.

"This collaboration combines technological expertise with a strong market presence, making it a model partnership that provides mutual benefits," said Namgung Geum-sun, vice president of Samsung Heavy Industries.
