Swiss Sohytec and TKIL cooperate in the construction of "green" hydrogen power plants in India

Sohytec, a Swiss company producing environmentally friendly hydrogen technologies, announced plans to build environmentally friendly hydrogen plants in India in cooperation with contractor EPC TKIL Industries (formerly Thyssenkrupp Industries India Limited), TKIL Industries said in a statement on Tuesday, September 30.

The Sohytec-TKIL partnership will bring innovative green hydrogen solutions to the Indian market. The projects will rely on Sohytec's patented artificial photosynthesis (photoelectrolysis) technology, which allows the production of cost-effective green hydrogen from renewable energy sources such as solar and wind for a wide range of industrial applications.

Focus on steel and oil industry

Vivek Bhatia, Managing director and CEO of TKIL Industries, said, "Within the next 12 months, we expect to start building a green hydrogen plant in India with our technology. As an EPC player, we are in active discussions with steel producers and oil marketing companies. Any industry player who needs green hydrogen can invite us, and we will build and supply a plant for them."

Bhatia also emphasized that SoKHytec offers the most cost-effective green hydrogen production technology in the world, making it a leading solution for industries focused on decarbonization and the transition to renewable energy sources.
