S. government has acquired a 5% stake in Canadian lithium producer Lithium Americas, as well as a 5% stake in the Thacker Pass Nevada lithium project, which the company is implementing in partnership with General Motors Co. (GM).The agreement with the US authorities will allow her to access the first portion of financing in the amount of 435 million out of the total loan amount of 2.26 billion allocated to her for the project.
Thacker Pass is expected to become the main source of lithium for the American industry.
