The Brazilian mining company Minérios Itaúna Ltda (Minerita) has concluded a major contract with the Finnish engineering group for the supply of all crushing equipment for its iron ore project to Minas-Direas. The project is aimed at the supply of 4.5 million tons of high-quality pellets per year in two stages, which emphasizes the growing role of Brazil in the production of iron ore of premium-class.
The volume and technology of the project
The energy-efficient chopping system will determine the first phase of the plant designed to process the compact iron ore, combining several units of modern equipment:
- Primary grinding: Nordberg C160 Dick Crubula
- Second grinding: Nordberg MP800 conical crusher
- Subtle grinding: high -pressure slag (HPGR) and ball melts) with a capacity of 3.9 MW
- repeated grinding: two Vertimill VTM4500 mills with mixing
"Close cooperation since 2010 played a key role in choosing Metso as our partner for this energy -efficient chopping contour. These investments reflect our strategic goals and long -term values ", - said representatives of Minerita.
