Turkey's Isdemir has ordered the country's largest BF for its 55th anniversary

Turkish company Isdemir, a subsidiary of OYAK Mining Metallurgy Group, has announced that it is celebrating its 55th anniversary with new investments, stating that it continues to contribute to Turkey's industrial development and global competitiveness through sustainable production and investments in high-tech infrastructure.

With the commissioning of Cemile, the largest blast furnace in Turkey, Isdemir said that it continues to add value to the Turkish industry with modern production technologies and environmentally friendly systems.

In line with its vision of clean zero, Isdemir has increased its investments and commissioned Turkey's largest blast furnace in 2025. The new furnace, named Cemile, has an annual capacity of 2.8 million tons of hot metal. Equipped with advanced technological systems, it increases efficiency and saves energy. The furnace's gas recovery technology also helps reduce carbon emissions, supporting the company's goal of zero-carbon production.

Founded in 1970, Isdemir is the only integrated steel producer in Turkey capable of producing both flat and long products, with an annual liquid steel production capacity of 5.8 million tons. The company directly employs about 5,000 people and provides indirect employment for another 9,000 people.
