statkraft, the largest manufacturer of renewable energy sources in Europe, and Fortia Energía, a leading supplier of electricity in the market in the Iberian market, signed a long -term electricity agreement (PPA) with Network Steel, the main supplier of Spanish steel.
the agreement will continue for the next five years and is obtained from Statkraft's Whord and Solar Apsets in Spane. It is a strategic step for network steel in order to block a stable renewable power, soften the volatility of prices and strengthen its competitive position in the complex energy market.
structure Agreements
in accordance with this agreement, Statkraft has developed a construction contract with renewable renewable supply for Fortia, which acts as a buyer of energy. Fortia, in turn, will deliver this renewable electricity to network steel, covering almost 50 percent of the company’s annual consumption in Spain.
Network Steel controls several steel production facilities on the Iberian Peninsula. Providing long -term renewable energy at fixed prices, the company seeks to reduce the effects of market fluctuations, support for the goals of the decarbonization, offer more and more competitive and environmentally friendly products and reduce the risk of energy costs.
