The cost of zinc increases concerns about the shortage of this metal in the world, playing into the decline that was previously observed and updating the maximum since December last year.
Zinc rose 0.6% to $3,026,000 per ton during trading in London on Tuesday. ILZSG Group, zinc production increased by 6.3% year-on-year in the first half of 2025. However, due to problems in the processing of enterprises, the volume of refined zinc production decreased by more than 2%.
As a result, zinc reserves in London metals fell to 30,000 tons, although at the beginning of the year they reached 171,500 tons, writes Economics of Trade.
