In January-September of this year, exports of Japanese ferrous metallurgy products amounted to 22.86 million tons, which is 4.3 percent less than in the same period of the previous year.
As for Japan's main ferrous metallurgy export markets, in the first nine months of this year, the country's ferrous metallurgy exports to Thailand totaled 3.25 million metric tons, down 0.8 percent, and exports to South Korea totaled 2.86 million metric tons, down 19.5 percent, while exports to China decreased by 13.9 percent to 1.75 million metric tons. Exports to Taiwan totaled 1.44 million metric tons, up 5.5 percent, while exports to the United States totaled 832,907 metric tons, down 12.5 percent from the same period last year.
