India’s state-run steelmaker Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) has resumed rolling rebar. The company expects the product line to help ensure the mill’s long-term economic viability.
Rolling operations were halted in June 2026 for extensive repairs to the coke oven batteries. Their resumption has increased supplies of thermomechanically treated TMT rebar in various sizes, a company official said on Tuesday, October 27.
The increased availability will give customers and dealers better access to rebar for housing, infrastructure and other construction projects.
