Italy's Danieli Technologies has shared details of the process equipment it will supply to Australian steelmaker Alter Steel's new steel plant in Pinkenbah, which will be the country's first new steel plant in more than 40 years.
As previously reported by SteelOrbis , the compact, highly efficient plant will produce about 500,000 tons of reinforcement and wire per year rod, reel on reel and rod. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2027.
Under the agreement, Danieli will supply its MIDA technology and include the Digimelter electric arc furnace and Q-One digital power supply.
