CSN reported net profit in the third quarter of 2025

Brazilian steel and iron ore producer Companhia Siderúrgica Nacional (CSN) reported a net profit of 76 million reais ($14.26 million) for the third quarter of 2025, compared with a net loss of 731.6 million reais for the third quarter of 2024.

This is the company's first quarterly net profit in 2025.  Net sales increased by 6.6 percent to 11.794 billion reais, gross profit increased by 26.8 percent to 3.467 billion reais, and operating profit increased by 121 percent to 1.723 billion reais.  In addition to improved operating performance, the company benefited from lower financial expenses, which In year-on-year comparison, improved results by BRL 488 million.  In volume terms, domestic sales of steel products decreased by 10 percent to 780,000 tons, while steel exports decreased by 7.6 percent to 277,000 tons.  Domestic iron ore sales decreased by 11.7 percent to 977,000 tons, while iron ore exports increased by 5.9 percent to 11.419 million tons.  Considering the contribution of CSN's various business sectors to EBITDA during the quarter, steel production was 12.9 percent, mining 58.4 percent, logistics 16.6 percent, energy 1.6 percent and cement 11.7 percent, excluding domestic exceptions.  USD = 5.33 Brazilian reais (November 6)
