Exports of plates from Brazil increased in October

Brazil exported 21,000 tons of plates in October, up from 5,500 tons in September, according to SISCOMEX.

September exports were headed to Europe (16,100 tons at $615 per ton) and South America (4,900 tons at $662 per ton), shipped by Gerdau (16,100 tons). at $615/t), ArcelorMittal (2,600 t at $529/t), Usiminas (2,000 t at $806/t) and CSN (300 t at $848/t), FOB terms.  Meanwhile, Brazil imported 1,400 tons of heavy sheets in October versus 1,600 tons in September.  Sources of imports were China (900 tons at a price of 595 US dollars per ton) and Europe (500 tons at a price of 1,255 US dollars per ton), also on FOB terms.
