In the first 10 months of this year, exports of flat rolled products increased by 1.4 percent to 1.47 million tons, while exports of semi-finished steel products totaled 1.09 million tons, which is 36.0 percent less than last year. the base. The share of semi-finished products in exports in January-October was 32.87 percent, which is significantly lower than the 46.31 percent recorded in the same period of 2024, and the share of flat rolled products in exports was 44.26 percent, which is significantly higher than the 39.35 percent recorded in the first 10 months of last year. In addition, the share of long-rolled products increased to 22.87 percent from 14.34 percent recorded in January-October 2024.
Meanwhile, in the first 10 months of this year, domestic steel consumption increased by 31.6 percent year-on-year to 3.44 million tons, of which 1.39 million tons or 40.24 percent were imported. However, in the period from January to October 2024, domestic steel consumption amounted to 2.62 million tons, of which 1.04 million tons or 39.57 percent were covered by imports.
In the first 10 months of this year, the total volume of steel imports to Ukraine amounted to 1.39 million tons, which is 33.8 percent more than last year. In particular, Ukraine imported 928.2 thousand tons of flat rolled products, which is 12.7 percent more than last year, and imports of long products increased by 57.1 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 308.1 thousand tons.
