In September of this year, shipments of cold-rolled rolled products and strips to Japan increased by 2.1% compared to the previous month and decreased by 11.9% compared to the same period last year, amounting to 384,477 metric tons. 54.4% of shipments were made to the domestic market, and the remaining 45.6% to export markets, according to the Japanese Federation of Ferrous Metallurgy (JISF).
Meanwhile, in the specified month, Japan's CR sheet and strip stocks decreased by 6.1 percent compared to the previous month, amounting to 657,570 metric tons, and decreased by 3.9 percent year-on-year. 72.9 percent of the reserves belonged to steel producers, while 27.1 percent belonged to steel merchants.
In September, production of CR sheets and strips in Japan totaled 341,494 tons, down 21.5% month-on-month and 13.2% year-on-year.
