In the first nine months of this year, the import of coking coal to Turkey amounted to 3.86 million tons, which is 9.2 percent lower, and the cost of these imports decreased by 36.7% to $708.40 million year-on-year.
Coking coal imports to Turkey - over the past 12 months
During the specified period, Australia was the largest source of coking coal imports to Turkey with 1.65 million tons, which is 22.7% less year-on-year. Australia was followed by the United States with 1.55 million tons, which is 11.0 percent less than in the same period of the previous year, and Russia with 494,405 tons, which is 85.5 percent more than last year.
