According to a Primetals press release, the order includes a complete digitalization package based on Level 1 and 2 automation, providing improved process control, data transparency, and casting optimization at all stages of production. The two new casters are equipped with several key systems designed to minimize downtime and increase flexibility when switching between product types.
Each caster is capable of processing slabs with a thickness of 200 to 230 mm and a width of 800 to 1800 mm for the production of various grades, in particular, high-quality non-oriented electrical steels for use in vehicles powered by new energy sources.
