Ukrainian metallurgical plant Zaporizhstal, owned by Metinvest, said it has completed a large-scale reconstruction program with investments of 370 million hryvnia ($8 million), covering the main production units of the enterprise.
Repair work is focused on blast furnace No. 3, including its gas cleaning system, aspiration systems in the foundry yard and the bunker rack of the blast furnace shop. In the open-hearth shop, the plant repaired a two-bath steelmaking unit and modernized the associated gas treatment facilities. A large-scale restoration was also carried out in the hot rolling shop, including work on the slab mill-1150, the BTLS-1680 mill, as well as the repair of shears and clamp cranes.
In addition to major production repairs, Zaporizhstal is also preparing to carry out a comprehensive repair of the main units of the thermal power plant, allocating UAH 75 million ($1.78 million) for this purpose. These updates maintain energy stability and continuity of plant operation
