Indian company Jai Raj Ispat launches new rebar mill supplied by Danieli

Italian steelmaker Danieli Technologies has announced that Indian steelmaker Jai Raj Ispat limited has successfully completed the first quality test of its thermomechanically treated rebar mill located at the Orvakal Mega Industrial Hub in Andhra Pradesh. According to Danieli, the testing was completed just two months after the start of production, marking rapid progress in the commissioning of the new plant.

The 350,000 tonnes per annum rebar plant stands out as India's first installation of Danieli's MIDA QLP technology. Danieli said the system has a compact continuous production layout that integrates key steelmaking and rolling units, including a refining furnace, continuous casting machine, induction heater and high-speed rolling mill. All of these steps operate in an endless casting-rolling configuration.

Daniel's MIDA QLP technology converts liquid steel directly into finished thermomechanically processed rebar in one continuous sequence. This installation is designed to significantly reduce heat losses, eliminate several intermediate processing steps, reduce energy consumption and increase the metallurgical stability of the final product
