SunCoke extends coke supply deal with Cleveland-Cliffs

SunCoke Energy, Inc., an American producer of high‑quality coke, announced a three-year extension of its coke supply agreement with the American mining company Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. According to the contract, starting on January 1, 2026, the SunCoke Haverhill plant in Ohio will annually supply 500,000 tons of metallurgical coke to the Cleveland-Cliffs blast furnaces.

SunCoke CEO Catherine Gates said: "This contract confirms the long-term partnership between SunCoke and Cleveland-Cliffs. We are pleased to continue supplying coke from our Haverhill plant to Cliffs Blast furnaces."

The agreement underscores the firm commitment of the two companies to maintaining stable supplies of raw materials for blast furnaces. The Haverhill SunCoke coke plant with a capacity of 1.1 million tons per year uses innovative heat recovery technology that captures excess heat to produce steam or electricity.
