Austrian steelmaker Voestalpine has placed an order for five automated scrap cranes designed by Danieli, which will be installed at its Donawitz site, Italian manufacturer Danieli Technologies said.
Danieli said the new installations will include a wide range of advanced automation technologies. These include absolute positioning systems for precise crane movement, intelligent video cameras for continuous monitoring, and electrical anti-oscillation systems to stabilize loads during movement.
In addition, the cranes will be equipped with regenerative drives that improve energy efficiency, and scrap classification with volumetric detection for improved real-time inventory accuracy.
