The new high-quality silicon steel project CA8 of China's Shagang steel mill in Jiangsu province successfully completed hot load testing on November 18, signaling that the first phase of this project has entered into operation, according to WISDRI Engineering and Research Ltd.
Hot load tests of unit CA5, unit CA6 and unit CA7 were successfully completed in December 2024, February 2025 and September 2025. Once all units of Shagang's thin strip cast high-grade silicon steel project are operational, Shagang will have an additional annual production capacity of 1.18 million tons of non-grain silicon steel.
