Toyota plans major investments to expand production of hybrids in the United States

Toyota Motor North America, a subsidiary of Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation, announced a $912 million investment in five manufacturing plants in the United States to significantly expand its hybrid vehicle production capacity and meet growing demand in the American market.

The investment will focus on facilities at the Buffalo plant in West Virginia, the Georgetown plant in Kentucky, the Blue Springs plant in Mississippi, the Jackson plant in Tennessee and the Troy plant in Missouri.

These plants support the production of critical hybrid components and vehicle assembly, forming the backbone of Toyota's expanding electric vehicle portfolio in the United States.
