According to local media reports, the Kazakh company EkibastuzFerroAlloys has started operating a new ferroalloy production plant in Ekibastuz, located in the Pavlodar region. The plant, which is an important milestone for the country's metallurgical industry, has begun operations with the aim of significantly expanding the national production of ferroalloys.
Key features of the new plant
- The total investment amounted to 92 billion tenge ($177.25 million,
- The plant has an annual capacity of 240,000 tons of high-grade ferrosilicon (FeSi75),
- The efficiency of gas purification reaches 99.8 percent,
- About 800 permanent jobs have been created,
- Modern electric furnace technologies and environmentally efficient systems.
With the new plant, Kazakhstan aims to expand eco-friendly production approaches, retain a skilled industrial workforce in the Ekibastuz region, increase the country's competitiveness in the global ferrosilicon market and export products to more than 50 countries, reflecting high global demand.
