Cold-cast steel is produced specifically for cold forming processes, which allows manufacturers to mold precision parts at high speed and with minimal waste. These steels are characterized by high purity, ensuring the absence of defects in the components, excellent formability, allowing for complex geometry during cold forming, as well as the strength and toughness required for safety-critical automotive and construction applications.
The acquisition remains subject to the approval of the antimonopoly authorities. Saarstahl said the deal is expected to be completed by the end of the year, after which operational integration will continue.
